Canceling and Removing Preauthorization's in CLEO and EPN

Cancelling a preauthorization


If you need to cancel it, there’s a couple options.


The 1st way you can hit “Refund” but that has to be right away. It wont work if you wait a day later


2nd option:  do nothing and the authorization will drop off 3-5 business days later. 


3rd option- works if you do it right away or days later. This is the best way to delete them


Step 1 go to EPN


Step 2 Activity report


Step 3 Outstanding authorizations


Step 4 click the one authorization you want to delete


Step 5 delete the authorization



  1. Go here first
  2. Next you will want to click view for Outstanding Authorization Reports to look at all of the pre-authorizations.



  1. Click the pre-authorization you wish to delete
  2. Hit the Delete Authorization and it will take you to the next section


Removing Pre-authorization from CLEO to balance


However, the pre-authorization will continue to show in route activity.  To remove this preauthorization, go to the customer route activity and open the preauthorization.



  1. Remove the authorization number
  2. Save
  3. Click on the X to delete the preauthorization from CLEO to balance out
